Biographical Note

Antonio Hidalgo Serralvo born in Vélez Málaga, at 23 Wells Street Sweets on February 3, 1954, when very corner of the great snow that then fell into the Axarquia. He studied primary school in the pit.

From his earliest childhood remembered as copying comics and modeling with soft tar and clay tile factories closer to the district of Pilar. Recreating all the toys, household utensils, farming tools, and everything that caught his attention: bullock carts, goats, horses show, cars, trains, boats of fishermen, etc.

Was of great significance for future gift to their parents did at the age of 12 years was a box of oil paints, discovering a fun adventure and personal fulfillment, and still grows with the same joy and illusion when I was a Kid. At this time, he met the artist Evaristo Guerra, who invited him to paint in the studio then owned in the neighborhood of the town in Vélez Málaga, and good advice to do still lifes began to natural and typical streets of the place.

Apprenticed as a carpenter and industrial painter. Performs various artistic design courses by correspondence, studied engraving in intaglio Rodríguez Acosta Foundation Granada attendance is etching by Francisco Aguilar in courses at the University of Axarquia, involved in an engraving course taught by the teacher Oscar Manesi Workshop 7 / 10 in Malaga. Later he met Paco Hernández painters and artists of his generation Gallardo Valdés, Casamayor, Jurado Lorca, Bonilla, Lope, Belda, Lobato, Paco Martín ... Lives in Barcelona and Madrid in his youth, later he moved to Velez Malaga, where he currently resides with his wife Mary and their children Amanda and Alexis. In the 90's he traveled throughout Europe and thus take contact with all the trends in contemporary painting.

From his place of residence preparing exhibitions and all kinds of work, decorating floats for carnivals and Magi ride, designed in several editions for the above scenario carnivals, and has made around 20 posters on the occasion of the rooted folkloric events in the town of Vélez Malaga and its surroundings.
